12TH
SEPTEMBER 2020: - The World’s most followed Soccer League, the English Premier
League 2020/2021 Season is back with a bang, players back from shortened break,
clubs with one of the shortest pre-seasons in history are back to come and
compete for their individual targets, needless to say, every target having
numerous battlers-from the trophy, European positions, mid-table, relegation,
improving on the previous positions, the list is endless.
Liverpool
and Klopp will be looking to begin their title defence strongly to eliminate
the stance that 2019/2020 triumph was a fluke and prove to the world that they
are indeed back to their perch and ready to celebrate League titles regularly
like in the 80s.
Manchester
City and Pep will be as expected looking to wrestle back ‘their’ title they had
won in the previous two seasons that they had ‘lend’ to Klopp and co briefly.
Manchester
United under former striker Ole will be at the very best looking for their 21st
title and improve on their third-place finish in 2019/2020. If they keep the
consistency displayed since January 2020 in the upcoming season, it would take
a keen gambler to bet against them having a real shout for the top prize this
time round.
Chelsea
under all-time top-scorer Lampard and a great transfer window mixing up with a
great mix of experience and talent present at the Stamford Bridge would try to first
maintain their top four status and probably compete for the title this time
round, after all that is what their billionaire owner Abramovich will be
expecting after such superb and calculated spending.
North
London rivals Spurs and Arsenal will be looking to get back Champions league soccer
to the Northern part of the capital, with their managers Mourinho and Arteta
respectively having a pre-season and a chance to get their ideas and game plans
functioning.
Leeds
are back, ready to dance and dine with the big boys under Marcelo Bielsa;
Fulham under former player and fan-favourite Scott Parker straight from their
promotion toppling of Brentford and smart spending; and West Brom led by Bilic;
will be looking to at the minimal survive in the league and at least avoid
getting relegated back to the championship at the first time of asking.
There
are previous seasons over-achievers Sheffield United, Wolves, Leicester and to
an extend Burnley looking to boost on their achievement aiming for the skies.
Everton
and experienced Ancelotti and great additions like James and Allan, any solid guess
of the position they will finish in?
Relegation
battling veterans Moyes, Hodgson and Steve Bruce leading West Ham, Crystal
Palace and Newcastle will be fighting for the mid table positions alongside Aston
Villa, Southampton & Brighton and maybe destabilizing that traditional top
six set-up come the end of the season.
It very much promises to be the best premier
league season yet.
S For Soccer will keep you updated from the key happenings for this season.
